About Marilyn
Seattle-based vocalist and pianist Marilyn Milano blends her love of music and her compassion for animals through her songs.
Raised on Beethoven and The Beatles, inspired by musicians from Chicago to Sting to Steely Dan, David Lanz to Diana Krall , Genesis to John Hiatt, Marilyn uses strong melodic hooks and lyrics that tell a story to draw you in and invite you to “sit and stay.”
Combining her eclectic vocal style with a fluid, melodic acoustic piano foundation, Marilyn mixes it up with soft rock, a tinge of blues, and sounds from her undeniable classical roots. A pianist since age 5 and a vocalist since the 70’s, Marilyn is equally at home with a piano and a microphone or jamming with fellow musicians.
In August of 2016 Marilyn launched her radio program on KKNW, also called “Love Has Many Faces”. Interviews have featured numerous rescues, as well as products and services that make a positive difference for animals and their people, including Seattle Animal Shelter, Saving Great Animals, Beagle Freedom Project, Old Dog Haven, Feral Cat Project, Blind Dog Rescue Alliance, Purple Heart Rescue, Camp Cocker Rescue, Beck’s Place, God’s Window Senior Horse Rehab, Angels with Misplaced Wings, St. Martin’s Rescue, Prevent Pet Suffocation, Tellington Touch, Pet CPR, Swell Dog Gelato, Dallas Fort Worth Cocker Spaniel Rescue, and many more.
