From the time I was just a little girl I’ve always loved to sit at the piano and improvise. Occasionally a friend would be listening and say something like “Oh, that was nice –what was it?” I’d respond “I don’t know—I just made it up.” Then they’d ask if I could play it again and I’d realize that the music was already gone…there was no way I could repeat it. Some of my friends have been getting after me for years to get some of my improvised music down on a CD so I finally did just that. It was me, the sound engineer, and a Steinway—and for two hours I just played whatever came out. I wound up with about 2 hours of music and selected what I thought was the best of it for this CD. There were no overdubs or corrections, everything is just as it was recorded so there are those “slight flaws and imperfections” much like one finds in clothing made from natural fabrics!

I’ve called it “Musings”, because, as I played, I thought about many of life’s lessons, challenges and joys. “Musings” is another arm of my fundraising to help complete “Love Has Many Faces”, my animal rescue CD project. It was relatively inexpensive to produce because it was piano only, and just one take. “Love Has” is a much more ambitious undertaking that will cost more to produce because it involves other musicians, vocals, and thus more studio time and a bigger tab.

I’ve included snippets of four of these “Musings” in order to give people an idea of what the CD is about. Price is $10.00+tax and shipping. Click here to place an order:
